Maria McManus was born in Dublin, Ireland. She studied International Marketing and Japanese at Dublin City University, and has lived and worked in Europe, Japan, South East Asia, Australia and the United States.

Maria has spent the past 20 years working at the highest levels of the fashion industry, most recently as Chief Merchandising Officer and Senior Vice President of North America Buying at Tory Burch, and previously as Vice President of Merchandising at rag & bone, Club Monaco and Edun.

Maria is as confident working with businesses of scale as she is managing the needs of start-up brands. Throughout her career, she has consistently driven exceptional financial results, and fostered successful and creative working environments.

Maria’s passion for the world of conscious consumerism began in earnest in 2005 with her work at EDUN, founded by Bono and his wife Ali Hewson. Since 2016, she has served on the Board of Advisors at FEED for Lauren Bush Lauren; and she sits on the Host Committee for Every Mother Counts, founded by Christy Turlington Burns.

Having worked in the fashion industry for 20 years, Maria McManus was becoming increasingly alarmed at the detrimental impact the fashion industry was having on the environment. With PARISH Maria offers a better option; a considered uniform of meticulously designed pieces, created with the lowest environmental impact. A perfectly fitting wardrobe of clothing that people will cherish and wear over and over again.

Each material used is thoughtfully sourced from Europe using the highest quality recycled, organic, natural and biodegradable fibers, with an emphasis on reducing water, chemical and energy use.  All production is traceable, ensuring everyone who touches the product is humanely treated and paid a fair living wage.

The unifying PARISH effect is an emphasis on utility and style, with consistent use of understated branding codes, so that the PARISH tribe is uniquely, yet subtly apparent yet never trying too hard.
